Welcome to Abigail Ministries

ABIGAIL MINISTRIES is a Christian Charity which provides Hope and Comfort to destitute families living in Kenya. Abigail Ministries believes that, while they have many similar needs, the ‘poor’ are individuals with individual needs. For this reason, we visit the homes of all our families and a member of the Abigail team meets with each of them 2 or 3 times a year to evaluate their progress and discuss the best way to proceed. This has the added advantage of getting to know the families personally and becoming friends with them.

The comforts ABIGAIL MINISTRIES provides range from food parcels, beds and bedding, cooking facilities and hurricane lamps to renovating their homes, either partially or completely, to make them stable and weatherproof.

ABIGAIL MINISTRIES provides hope for the future by sponsoring primary and secondary education for children, College Courses and Apprenticeship Training for those teenagers who have missed out on adequate formal education.

For the adults, ABIGAIL MINISTRIES helps establish income generating micro-businesses and Group Work for women to enable them become self-sufficient thus making poverty a thing of the past for their families.

ABIGAIL MINISTRIES works in conjunction with existing Children’s Projects involved in feeding and education programmes, as well as family support projects run by British and national organisations in the area of benefit. At present these are solely in Kenya but we are willing to go wherever God leads us.

ABIGAIL MINISTRIES sends Child Sponsorship money regularly for food and school fees for the children but all other needs are determined by a member of the Abigail team and purchased and completed under their personal supervision while in Kenya.
